Dec 26 Roads at Christmas
STONEYFORD
There was a fine turnout for this years 5K Run in support of Stoneyford United F C. A number of KCH members took advantage of the run to work off some of the Christmas fare. Among those who did the run were Paddy Kelly who finished the race in second place in 16.43. Among the other finishers were Michael and Geraldine Grogan, Gillian Costello, Lorcan O’Toole, Casey Lawlor and Carmel O’Toole.
TULLAROAN
Tullaroan was busy with a number of options. Taking the half marathon were Mags Clancy, Paula Hynes, Aidan Clancy, Gretta Beckett, Orla O’Gorman, Laura Andrews, Oonagh Guilfoyle. Rory Conon and Matthew Warren did the 10K and placed 3rd and 4th respectively. Casey Lawlor placed 3rd in the ladies 10K.
CLONMEL
Meanwhile over in Clonmel John Behan clocked 21.12 for the 4 mile while Michael Murphy finished in 22.34.
Dec 25 Annual Run
Today’s weather provided and excellent opportunity for a gentle workout in preparation for the Christmas festivities. And the local runners responded with a great turnout – while old friends renewed memories of times past and stories of the last twelve months a generous contribution was provided for Cois Nore. Well done all.
Dec 14 Uneven B Cross Country + O/35s
While our national teams were raising the joy over in Portugal our future winners were enjoying a workout in Graiguenamanagh. The reason being the county B uneven championships. Our O/35 Men were in good form and took first team medals.
Results: Under 7 – 2 Eimear Walsh, 3 Kate Robinson.
Under 9 – 3 Cara Walsh, 5 Eva Robinson, 9 Sheila Walsh, 10 Fia Conroy, 12 Ella Burke, 16 Eimear Walsh, 17 Joanie O’Toole.
Under 11 – 3 Cara Burke. 3 Neil Walsh, 7 Adam Walsh.
Under 13 – 1 Eoghan Buckley, 4 Charlie O’Donohoe.
Men O/35 – 1 John Behan, 5 David FitzGerald, 9 Denis Vasiljevs, 10 Trevor Spillane.
Dec 07 Co Road Walks
While all the focus was on the national cross country the county road walks went ahead somewhat under the radar. However it was gold and silver for our U12s. Well done.
Girls – 1 Caoimhe Malone, 2 Nora Carroll.
Boys – 1 Cillian Maher.
Dec 07 National Uneven in Abbottstown
The final cross country for our athletes took place n Abbottstown today. It was the national uneven ages plus Novice and the athletics once again experienced a considerable amount of muck – particularly on one part of the course.
Results.
Under 11- 139 Alex O’Donovan, 158 Ethan Maher
Under 13 – 103 Kate Kelly, 130 Ella O’Flaherty, 135 Ella Burke. The boys had a team and placed 16th with 76 Daniel Quinn 85 Daniel McIntyre 134 Eoin Hoyne, 135 Dylan Guilfoyle, 140 Cillian Andrews, 155 Brandon Maher.
Under 15 – Great team result here to finish 6th. The team was 25 Katie Byrne, 28 Emily O’Keeffe, 75 Amelia O’Brien, 107 Heidi Ryan, 116 Maria Kraljevic. Daniel Greene had a fine run out of his age to place 8th. Likewise Sam Woodcock in 42nd.
Under 17 – Kyrell Mtinsi had his usual steady run to place 20th. Sinead Cormack in 12th place was second scorer on the 3rd placed Leinster team to gain an All-Ireland bronze medal.
Under 19 – We had two reliables with Hazel Coogan 43rd and Eimear Cormack 51st – both scoring on the 6th placed county team. Tom Murphy had a good run to place 40th.
Novice – The outstanding performance of the day came in the last race with Callum Barron taking gold. Paddy Kelly placed 139th. The county team came 4th.
Dec 06 Grace in US
Following her recent good run in the national U23 cross country Grace Richardson was on the track to compete in the Danville 5000 in Virginia, USA. Here she completed the run in 16.08.28.
