NATIONAL
The national 10 mile was held in the Phoenix Park today. Ger Forde took individual bronze in 50.09; Other participants were Jackie Varley 1.41.23 and Jill Kavanagh 2.02.22.
NIGHT OF 5K PBs
Will Fox travelled to Arklow and finished third in 15.30.
Jul 19 AAI Games
Six athletes from the club took part in the AAI Games in Morton stadium today. Alex Cullen, back from injury, had a PB with second place in the 400m (47.18). Eoin Everard, fit as ever, was second in the 1500 (3.57.23). Kate Maher had a PB of 24.22 finishing 3rd in the 200. Aisling Phelan went in the 100m (12.46), Clodagh O’Callaghan in 1500 and Kyrell Mitsny (1500 403.36).
Jul 18 International Qualifiers
Our juveniles have been looking outward in recent times as athletes are being selected for international events.
SCHOOLS
Patrick Wall and Victor Lamph were selected for the SIAB on The Mary Peters track in Belfast. Both represented their respective schools with quality performances. Victor clocked a PB of 48.32 when winning the 400m and Patrick had a time of 58.36 to win 4th place in the 400m hurdles. The Irish Schools 4x400m were second and both received silver medals as the team were second behind England and in front of Scotland and Wales.
EUROPEAN
The Irish Under 18 team are in Reiti, Italy competing in the European team championships. Kate Maher had achieved the 400m standard and was selected as a non travelling sub.
WORLD
The world Under 20 championships are being held in Eugene, Oregon, USA. Three from KCH achieved the qualifying standard and were selected for the U20 team – Pia Langton (800 & 1500), Molly Daly (400) and Kate Maher (400 – again as a non travelling sub). Unfortunately Molly, having sustained an injury, was unable to prove fitness and a as a consequence Kate now travels as a full member of the team.
Well done to the athletes, coaches, managers and family members for the years of training and support to enable these athletes to achieve such high standards.

THE NATIONALS
Day 3 on the national juveniles was held in sweltering heat in Tullamore. Times would therefore not be expected to be broken. That didn’t bother Victor Lamph as he sprinted to gold in the 400m hurdles. Other results were – Under 15 Daniel Greene 6th (1500 – 4.32.86); Marcus Lyons 12th (200 – 26.69). Under 16 – Ella Sorohan 3rd (200m); Jasmine Timmons McEneaney 6th (200m); Fiach Crowley 10th (200 – 24.66). Under 17 – Sinead Cormack 6th (1500m); Danny Direen 9th (300 hurdles – 43.54); Ellen Daly 4th (200m); Eoghan O’Farrell 7th (200m). Under 18 – Kyrell Mtinsi 14th (1500 – 4.16.47); Victor Lamph 1st(400 hurdles -56.07). Under 19 – Charlie Ryan 15th (1500m).
“B” NATIONALS
Another sweltering day in Tullamore and many really fine results. Under 13 – Cillian Maher 16th (600 -1.56.20), 7th ( long jump -3.93); Zachary Marc 1st (long jump 4.38); Under 14 Nicky Cleere 3rd (80m – 11.5); Under 15 Sam Woodcock 1st (800m – 2.14.60). Under 16 – Amelia O’Brien 1st (800m – 2.23.79); Katie Byrne 3rd (800m – 2.26.18).
NATIONAL RELAYS
Another great day for our relay squads in the heat in Tullamore. Under 13 Boys 10th (Aaron Tyrell, Daniel Quinn, Zachary Marc, Conor Laurence Delaney, Daniel McIntyre).
Under 14 Boys 6th (Nicky Cleere, Cathal Comerford, Eoin Hoyne, Caelan Bambrick, Jacob Briers).
Under 14 Girls 3rd (Julia Daly, Ellen Ryan, Beibhin O’Brien, Raine McKeever).
Under 16 Girls 1st (Jasmine Timmons McEneaney, Mollierose Keegan, Ella Sorohan, Mia Brennan, Kelly Charters).

CORK CITY SPORTS (8th July)
Pia Langton achieved the qualifying standard for world juniors with a time of 2.05.72 in the 800m.
MORTON GAMES, SANTRY (10th July)
Kyrell Mtinsi pulled off a PB in the 1500m with a 5th place finish in 4.02.88. Shay McEvoy had a seasons best for the 5000m with 13.47.39.
DOCKLANDS 5K( 9th July)

The sun was up and the roads were hot but the runners were out and about.
July 1st – Dundrum Coillte 10K – Billy Coogan came home under the 30m to place second in 29.59. There were PBs for Colm Smyth 34.34, David fitzGerald 37.54, David Devine 41.12, Tara Brett 45.14 and Casey Lalor 46.47. Other good performances from Tomasz Jarzabeck, Rory Lehane, Alan Mitchell and John Kearns.
July 3rd – Mick Murphy Memorial – 6th Eamon O’Connor(16.15) and Padraig Ruane (18.11).
Juky 5th – Clara AC %K – Pat Purcell (21.13).
Jul 4/5 Nationals U20/23
There were many exciting events at the national Under 20 and Under 23 championships this weekend. KCH were very much in the mix particularly with Pia Langton claiming the U20 800m title. Also in U20 Tom Murphy proved his stamina to win the gold in the 3000m steeplechase. Kate Maher improved her ranking within the 4x400m hopefuls.
