The “Boss” brought great excitement to Nowlan Park this evening but for a different kind of excitement earlier in the day the place to be was Scanlon Park for Day 2 of the county track and field championships.

There were many fine performances, particularly from our younger athletes with quite a few scoring double gold in their preferred events. Among the two time gold medal winners were the following:- Killian Croke, Callum Barron, Graine Behan, Graham Bourne, Daniel McIntyre, Daniel Greene, Conor Knox, Ella Wall, Alex Cullen.

Under 11 – Daniel McIntyre 1-300, 1-500, 3-long jump, Daniel Quinn 2-Turbo, 2-500, Henry Trayer 3-300.
