KCH juvenile athletes travelled in large numbers to the county indoors which were held in the indoor facility in Nenagh. Many medals were won in all age groups and in all events. With medals being won in sixteen relay events a minimum of 64 athletes came home with at least one medal. In addition there were quite a number of athletes who collected multiple individual medals. Exceptional results were achieved by two athletes - Patrick Wall and Daniel Greene - each of whom won three gold medals. The dust or even the snow had barely set when there was more big news from the US. This came in the form of Peter Lynch with a marvellous performance in the Houston half marathon on Sunday. This was Peter's second half marathon. The weather was somewhat cold and blustery but Peter was obviously in competition form. In a field of 5000+ athletes with over forty elite runners he placed 19th in a new PB time of 1.01.15 making him a top5 Irish All Time. Shay McEvoy has joined an exclusive club - The Sub 4 Minute Milers. Representing his college, Tulsa Oklahoma, at the Arkansas Invitational he placed third in the final of the mile. But it is the time he achieved which makes the big news. Clocking 3.58.48 he becomes the third Kilkenny City Harriers and third person form Co Kilkenny to run a sub 4-minute mile joining Eoin Everard and Cathal O'Reilly in that exclusive club. Also with a new PB is Meabh Richardson. Meabh was competing at the indoor 3000m in Seattle. She placed 15th in a new PB of 9.22.77. [...]

The Faithful Fields in Kilcormac, Co Offaly was the venue for the opening Leinster 2025 CC.  Our Intermediate Men 8 Dean Rowe, 13 Padraig Ruane, 19 Colm Smyth and 23 Eamon O'Connor placed 4th. All  four scored on the third placed county team thereby earning each a Leinster CC medal. In the juvenile CC Relays we had five teams taking part. A quartet of our under 12 boys travelled to Dublin for the "Track and Field Live" at the NIA. They were a happy team and really enjoyed the experience. They also enjoyed the competition. All four were excellent in the 60m sprints Daniel Quinn 9.43, Daniel McIntyre 9.86, Charlie Norris 10.11 and Isaac Burns 9.93. Daniel Quinn led the start of the 600m and was well in contention with 150m to go but was overtaken on the run in. The arrival of snow and ice caused a delay to the start of 2025 competition. However with the thaw having set in all events including training are now up and running -  On the road four athletes ran the Donadea half marathon - David Devine (1.46.35), Laura Andrews (1.53.38), Paula Hynes (1.57.14) and Emma Kennedy (2.02.18). The National Indoor combined events were held in the Abbottstown  Arena. U14 athlete, Conor Knox, had a fine competition.
