Our scholarship athletes returned to the Indoors this weekend. Peter Lynch, representing Tulsa University, was competing at the Gorilla Classic in Iowa while Aoife Richardson, University of San Francisco, competed in the Husky Classic in Seattle. Peter ran much of his 5K atthe back and only moved through the field with some 600m to go. Finishing in 14.09.04 he showed a 26 second improvement on this event in 2019. The story was equally impressive for Aoibhe as she finished 7th in 15.52 some 25 seconds ahead of her previous PB of 16.17 - so a Valentine's Day to remember. [...]

Feb 08 Maher – Forever Young

2020-02-10T15:27:53+00:00

It was a case of "see him run" at the National Masters cross-country in Avondale National Park today. The "him" of course was veteran athlete Brian Maher. With soft underfoot conditions Brian made quick work of this national 7Km cross-country run. Completing the course in 23.43 he not only won his own over-40 category but was the overall winner. Perhaps he had home duties to attend to, but be that as it may, he didn't hang about. Congratulations and stay forever young.
