May 27 Shay McEvoy in California

Tulsa athletes, including KCH man Shay McEvoy, were in action at the NCAA West Regionals in Sacramento, California, over the last couple of days. Shay represented his college, Tulsa, in the 5000. Finishing in 21st place with a time of 13.49.01 he will not qualify for the nationals in June.

May 27/28 Leinsters in Carlow

Our athletes performed well at the Leinster Junior, Senior and Masters in Carlow this weekend. We had five Juniors in action. Billy Coogan won gold in the 3000m steeplechase. His time was 9.13.77. Alex Cullen had double bronze - 400m (52.20) and long jump (6.28). Noah Gilmore was busy, competing in four events  - Gold in Discus (24.53), Silver in Long Jump (6.29), Bronze in High Jump (1.70) and 4th in 400m (52.84). May 20 Two In National Road

The National 5K Road was held in the Phoenix Park today. KCH had two worthy representatives in the race. Meghan McCarthy cross the finish line in 19.06 while Leanne Butler had a time of 20.57. Well done ladies.

May 20 Wins in Stoneyford

First across the finish line in the Stoneyford 5K was Padraig Ruane in 16.31. Other 5K finishers were juveniles Patrick Wall and James Healy. Brian Maher, competitive as ever, led them home in the 10K in 32.51. Other finishers here were Noel Sugrue 4th O/40, Andy Hanrahan 6/O40, John Kearns 3rd/O50; Jan Hazenberg 7/O40 and Sean OhArgain 3/O55. For the ladies were Martina Lynch 4/O45, Annemarie Shortall 5/O45 and Brigid Rochford.

There were many great performances by our athletes at the Leinster Schools track and field in Tullamore today. Ranking in the top spot was Molly Daly, Loreto, with a CBP of 43.46 in the 300m Intermediate hurdles. The previous record of 44.10 was set by Molly's mother, Fiona Norwood, in 1995. Molly also won bronze in the 200m. Other Loreto girls at Intermediate Level were Ella Wall, 4/high jump 1.55; Christian Capitan Martin 5/3000m and Pia Langton 1st 800m (2.13.76 PB) and 5th 300m. Aoibhe Richardson has been selected by Athletics Ireland to compete in the Euro Cup 10,000m. This takes place in Pace, France, on 3rd June. Congrarulations and best wishes.

May 17 Day 1 Leinster Schools

After a very successful competition at the South Leinsters in Carlow a number of KCH athletes were in action at "The Leinsters" in Tullamore today. Representing Loreto were Ellen Millea Minor 7th  75m hurdles; Kate Maher Junior 2nd 200m; Grace Delahunty U16 3rd 200m; Blaithin Holden Senior 3rd 100m hurdles. The CBS had Robert Coogan Minor 2nd 1,100m; Alex Cullen Intermediate 1st 100m hurdles, Paddy Kelly Intermediate 9th 1500m steeplechase and Billy Coogan Senior 2nd 2K steeplechase. St Kierans had Kyrell Mtinsi Minor nd 800m; Matias Quaglia Junior 2nd 100m and 2nd 200m; Louie Raggett U16 1st in Long jump. [...]

May 16 Peugeot Race Series

The Peugeot Race Series continued with the 5K Road race in JohnstownBridge, Co Meath today. KCH Men took the team title with 14 points. They were led home by Eoin Everard in first place (14.33). Brian Maher was 4th (14.53) (and also first M5). Next was James Ledingham in 9th (15.01) and then Padrai Ruane 45th (15.57).

Once again KCH were dominant at the county track and field championships held in Scanlon Park today. The weather, a little misty early in the day, held out to allow for good performances. The juveniles had a fine haul of medals from the relays- Under 10: Boys first and third, girls third; Under 12: Girls first and third, Boys first and third; Under 14: Girls first, second and third, Boys first and second; Under 16: Boys first; Under18/19 Girls first; Men: first and third; Ladies: first. May 13 IMC Belfast

There was an amount of top quality races at the Irish Miler's club meet in Belfast today. KCH had three athletes taking part. Cathal O'Reilly turned in a PB performance to win the 3000m in the B race. His time was  8.21.27. Eoin Everard was 9th in the 3000m A race in 8.16.75. Hannah Kehoe on her first time at IMC was 9th in her 3000 in 9.44.37.
