Once again KCH were dominant at the county track and field championships held in Scanlon Park today. The weather, a little misty early in the day, held out to allow for good performances. The juveniles had a fine haul of medals from the relays- Under 10: Boys first and third, girls third; Under 12: Girls first and third, Boys first and third; Under 14: Girls first, second and third, Boys first and second; Under 16: Boys first; Under18/19 Girls first; Men: first and third; Ladies: first. Juvenile and Senior Shields were retained.
Adults: We had a smaller group in action than on Day 1. Top performers were – Graham Bourne with two gold and two silver individual medals and Kate Millea with the same count two gold and two silver. Sheila O’Callaghan was also very much to the fore with one gold, two silver and one bronze.
Juveniles: Over eighty of our juveniles won individual medals -some one medal, a number won two and there were a few who succeeded in collecting three from their chosen events. Now it’s back to training to prepare for Leinster. Best wishes to all. Full results available on Kilkenny Athletics County Board.
