Tullamore was the venue for a half marathon today. And not just any half marathon as it doubled as an open half marathon and also the half marathon championship race for county Kilkenny, Leinster and National. KCH was well represented with a number of men and women competing. There were some fine individual runs and even better team performances.  Female Results - 255 Clare Dermody, 271 Jacinta Mulroe, 329 Lisa Collins, 365 Mary Prendergast, 410 Kate Sugrue, 778 Emma Staunton. The final of the national league was held in Tullamore today. This year's league had two rounds - the opening round and the final. There were six divisions - three for men (premier, division 1 and county) and three for women (premier, division 1 and county). KCH competed in the Men's Premier Division where they finished in seventh place. Nicholas Dunphy gathered nine points with first place in the 1500m walk. Cathal O'Reilly did likewise in the 5000m. Dean Brennan made a welcome return to claim third place in the Weight For Distance. Most of the team was made up [...]

Today was Masters Day at the national track and field championships in Tullamore. James Ledingham proved himself master of the 1500 as he took first place in 4.18.24 and bring home the gold medal. For good measure he also won silver in the 800m in a very good time of 2.03.05.
