Two club members competed in the 5K road race in Celbridge this evening. Eoin Everard, in flying form, took first place in 15.07 while Paul Phelan placed 68th in 18.27. Well done men.
Aoibhe Richardson had an excellent run in the annual Asics Falmouth 10K Road Race today to finish 5th in 39.33.
Well done KCH men in today's National League final. Round one was tough, Round two was tough and today's final in Tullamore was also tough. National finals are always tough, especially when the aim is to finish in the top three, thereby having each team member come home with an All-Ireland medal. This was especially true of todays event when a mere eight club members answered the call (some clubs had upwards of twenty members on their teams) and one of those a very recent joiner. Congratulations to James Ledingham on winning gold, double gold at that, in today's Masters track and field championships in Tullamore. James competing in M35 won gold in the 800m in 2.08,42 and in the 1500m in 4.15.00. Andrew Fleury won bronze in the M40 200m (25.95) and Paul Phelan also had bronze in the 400m (1.00.06) M50. well done men
Round 2 of the National League took place today spread over two venues - Carlow and Athlone. KCH were in Carlow and despite the closeness to a home venue we appear to have had difficulty getting a full squad to participate. However all is not lost as thanks to juveniles Liam Thompson, William Nugent and Alex Cullen, guests Shane Power and Jordan Knight (both St Joseph's) and not least the club chairman, John Maye, KCH finished up second team in Carlow.
