Some of our adults were competing in diverse places over the last few days.  BRUSSELS - Cliodhna Manning continued her return to top form with a good run at the IFAM in Brussels on Saturday. There she achieved a 53.66 for the 400m. Pia Langton ran in a heat of the 800 placing 3rd in 2.10.03. ENFIELD - The Bob Heffernan and Mary Hanley 5k road race - a good run by Jamie Gahan in 14.58. KCH had a bigger than usual contingent of athletes at this years Leinster t&f championships in Carlow. There were many excellent performances culminating in medals won and a number of new PBs set. A busy competitor was Graham Bourne who finished the weekend with four gold and a silver. Friday night and all is well. Day 3 of the county championships was for relays. Our younger athletes were out in force and practically won all before them as the results here below will show. Another busy weekend - are they all busy these times!!  LEINSTER SCHOOLS Our athletes made good showing in Santry on Saturday for the Minor and Junior Leinster Schools championships. In minor Ashling Phelan, Castlecomer Community School, won the 100m and Katie Byrne, St Mary's New Ross, placed 7th in the 800m. Juniors - Ellen Daly, Loreto, won the 200m and was 2nd in the 75m hurdles. Sinead Cormack, Presentation was 2nd in the 1500m. Kara Canavan, Presentation was 4th in 200m. Some excellent results from Morton Stadium today in the Leinster Schools championships. Topping the bill were two championship records  set by Alex Cullen and Molly Daly. Alex set a new record for the 400m hurdles with 54.18 while Molly's achievement came in the 300m in a time of 39.11. The "Boss" brought great excitement to Nowlan Park this evening but for a different kind of excitement earlier in the day the place to be was Scanlon Park for Day 2 of the county track and field championships. There were many fine performances, particularly from our younger athletes with quite a few scoring double gold in their preferred events. May 11 Cliodhna is Back

There were good results from the IMC event at the Mary Peers track in Belfast today. It was good to see Cliodhna Manning back on the track. Cliodhna's last race was in the 2023 national seniors where she had to pull up in the final of the 400m. Today she placed third in 53.79 - an excellent run after such a long competitive action.  Cathal O'Reilly achieved a new PB in the 1500m when he finished 1st in 3.45.71. There were good runs also in the 1500m by Myles Hewlett with a further PB -3.52.42 and Ruairi McEvoy -4.02.75.  [...]

GOWRAN KCH had fourteen runners taking part in the Leinster Novice road races in Gowran. The ladies earned eight Leinster medals - Meghan McCarthy (11.05) had an individual bronze and with Grainne Behan 10th, Claire Dermody 12th and Kate Millea 25th they had team gold and Meghan, Grainne and Claire also scored on the county winning team. Rhoda Griffith 27th and Gretta Beckett 30th provided additional backup. May 04 Pia For Europeans

Pia Langton had a treble today. Running in the IMC 800m in Morton stadium she not only won her race. She also had a PB but more importantly with a time of 2.09.20 she qualifies for the European under 18 championships to be held in Slovakia in July. Also at the IMC event were Myles Hewlett who ran the 1500 in 3.59.46 and Callum Barron with 8.59.99 for the 3000.  Well done.
