Feb 11 Juvenile Cross Country

Well done to all our juveniles at the All-Ireland B cross-country in a muddy Dundalk today. The U11s had a girls team and also a boys team.  The girls placed 10th in the inter club race. Team members were Ella O'Flaherty 36, Casey Cleere 45, Mealla Crowley 57 and Grace O'Shea 65. The boys with great team packing finished 4th. Tom Hardiman 16, Johnny O'Carroll 17, Eoin Hoyne 18 and Jake Delaney 82. Just three boys represented the club in the under 13 race. Feb 07 A Few in Abottstown

A few of our juveniles were in Abbottstown tonight at the track and field games. All turned in good performances - Ellen Ryan, Hannah O'Brien and Julia Daly ran the 60m and 600m. Ellen's times were 9.27 and 2.03.98; Hannah 9.84 and 2.15.82 and Julia 9.47 and 1.59.18. Aoibhe Quinn, Molly Daly and Ellen Daly ran the 60m. Times were 8.31, 7.99 and 8.09 respectively. Kate Kelly did the 600 in 1.51.68 and Grace Delahunty had 1.07.02 for the 400.

St Brigid's Day in Kilkenny is marked on the running calendar as the day to help fund the activities of Cois Nore. KCH lends its support in both administration and participation of this worthy cause. This year's 5K down the canal and around the Castle Park attracted close on 350 supporters. First home for theHarriers' ladies was Orla McPhillips (19.41) followed closely by Niamh Richardson (20.22).  Donnacha Maher (20.06)  was our first male across the finish line. Jan 21 Leinster Intermediate CC

A great team effort by our Intermediate men at the Leinster CC in Avondale Co Wicklow today saw them place fourth in the inter-club competition. In addition the four scorers for the club also scored on the County team which placed second thereby winning Silver Leinster medals. Placings were as follows - 10 Padraig Ruane, 12 Eamon O'Connor, 21 Andrew Smyth, 25 Paul Bolger, 26 Graham Bourne, 27 Colm Smyth, 29 Shay Roddy. Well done and congratulations on a well organised team.

Avondale, Co Wicklow, proved a happy venue for our young athletes competing in the Leinster CC Relays today. It was gold for our Girls U12A and also for Boys U12A. The under 14 boys also won gold and the under 14 girls had to settle for bronze. Dec 10 Eurocross in Brussels

Another good day for Irish athletes at the Eurocross in Brussels today. Our two Juniors Hannah Kehoe and Maebh had good runs finishing 45th and 54th respectively to help the national team into fifth place.  Nick Griggs was the star of the show with an individual bronze in the men's junior race in addition to leading the team to gold.  The under 23 teams had the ladies in 8th and the men in 10th. Oct 21 Good Day @ Leinster Evens

 The rain took a day off to allow for comfortable conditions at the Leinster even Ages cross country in Mountain View, Ballyhale, today. From the under 10's right through to the Novice Men KCH were very much on form. Daniel McIntyre took silver in the non-championship 1000m and Cillian Maher in 7th and James Healy running well got us off to a great start. KCH had four athletes at the national junior and U23 in Tullamore today - three junior and one U23. Hannah Kehoe was the star of the juniors with gold in the 1500m (4.37.15). Alex Cullen was 6th in long jump with a jump of 6.00m. Billy Coogan won silver in the 3000m steeplechase in 9.24.88. Shay McEvoy finished strongly in the U23 5000m to take first place in 4.37.15.

June was a busy time on the international stage for Aoibhe Richardson. Early in the month as part of the Irish team in the Europa cup an finished 19th in the 10,000 event. Today she was in Silesa, Poland for the European Games. Competing in the 5000m she placed third in 16.45.02.

The County Road Novice was held in Kilmacow today in conjunction with The Little South Run. KCH had a team in the men's event and led by Andrew Smyth, who finished in second place, the team were first.
