It's like the good old days once again with our juveniles travelling with teams to Kilmacow for the St Senan's Open CC and bringing home the Cup for the best juvenile club. Contributing to the win were Girls under 12 1st team, Girls under 14 2nd team and boys under 14 1st team. Juvenile competition moved up a step this weekend with the U9, 10 and 11 pairs and U12/13 individual championships. UNDER 9 - Seven of our U9s got their taste of Leinster competition today. Cian McIntyre and Jonah Cleere made a serious mark in the long jump with Cian placing 1st and Jonah 4th. Their respective achievements were 3.43 and 3.18. Some excellent results from Morton Stadium today in the Leinster Schools championships. Topping the bill were two championship records set by Alex Cullen and Molly Daly. Alex set a new record for the 400m hurdles with 54.18 while Molly's achievement came in the 300m in a time of 39.11. Todays Results Alex Cullen 1-400m hurdles, 2- 110m hurdles. Some inspiring achievements in diverse locations this weekend. Up in Belfast on Saturday Cathal O'Reilly scored maximum points for his DCU college team with victory in the 10000 on the Mary Peters track. His time was 31.25 .60. Down in Cobh, Co Cork, Meghan McCarthy took part in the Sonia O'Sullivan 10 mile. A really good run brought her into 4th female finisher in 1.05.15. Leanne Butler travelled a bit further - to Berlin. There she ran the half-marathon in a fine time of 1.34.36. Well done all.

The national juvenile indoor championships were held in Athlone this weekend. These were, as expected, highly competitive with a number of new records established. KCH were not the recipient of any CBP but there were medals, PBs and many excellent achievements. RESULTS U12 - Isabella Quaglia 3/shot (8.23); Kate Kelly 4/600 (1.46.84); Cathal Comerford 5/long jump, 6/60m; Caelan Bambrick 8/shot; Teagin Mtinsi 7/shot. A number of our younger juveniles took part in the St Senan's annual T&F in Kilmacow today winning three sets of relay medals and a number of individual medals. The relays were as follows:- first in girls U10, third in boys U10 and first in boys U12. Individual medals were as follows:- Under 9 - Cian McIntyre 1st 80m and 3rd 30m. Jonah Cleere 2nd 80m. Feb 11 Juvenile Cross Country

Well done to all our juveniles at the All-Ireland B cross-country in a muddy Dundalk today. The U11s had a girls team and also a boys team. The girls placed 10th in the inter club race. Team members were Ella O'Flaherty 36, Casey Cleere 45, Mealla Crowley 57 and Grace O'Shea 65. The boys with great team packing finished 4th. Tom Hardiman 16, Johnny O'Carroll 17, Eoin Hoyne 18 and Jake Delaney 82. Just three boys represented the club in the under 13 race. Feb 07 A Few in Abottstown

A few of our juveniles were in Abbottstown tonight at the track and field games. All turned in good performances - Ellen Ryan, Hannah O'Brien and Julia Daly ran the 60m and 600m. Ellen's times were 9.27 and 2.03.98; Hannah 9.84 and 2.15.82 and Julia 9.47 and 1.59.18. Aoibhe Quinn, Molly Daly and Ellen Daly ran the 60m. Times were 8.31, 7.99 and 8.09 respectively. Kate Kelly did the 600 in 1.51.68 and Grace Delahunty had 1.07.02 for the 400.

St Brigid's Day in Kilkenny is marked on the running calendar as the day to help fund the activities of Cois Nore. KCH lends its support in both administration and participation of this worthy cause. This year's 5K down the canal and around the Castle Park attracted close on 350 supporters. A great team effort by our Intermediate men at the Leinster CC in Avondale Co Wicklow today saw them place fourth in the inter-club competition. In addition the four scorers for the club also scored on the County team which placed second thereby winning Silver Leinster medals. Placings were as follows - 10 Padraig Ruane, 12 Eamon O'Connor, 21 Andrew Smyth, 25 Paul Bolger, 26 Graham Bourne, 27 Colm Smyth, 29 Shay Roddy. Well done and congratulations on a well organised team.
