NATIONAL The national 10 mile was held in the Phoenix Park today. Ger Forde took individual bronze in 50.09; Other participants were Jackie Varley 1.41.23 and Jill Kavanagh 2.02.22. NIGHT OF 5K PBs Will Fox travelled to Arklow and finished third in 15.30.

Six athletes from the club took part in the AAI Games in Morton stadium today. Alex Cullen, back from injury, had a PB with second place in the 400m (47.18). Eoin Everard, fit as ever, was second in the 1500 (3.57.23). Kate Maher had a PB of 24.22 finishing 3rd in the 200. Aisling Phelan went in the 100m (12.46), Clodagh O'Callaghan in 1500 and Kyrell Mitsny (1500 403.36).

THE NATIONALS Day 3 on the national juveniles was held in sweltering heat in Tullamore. Times would therefore not be expected to be broken. That didn't bother Victor Lamph as he sprinted to gold in the 400m hurdles. Other results were - Under 15 Daniel Greene 6th (1500 - 4.32.86); Marcus Lyons 12th (200 - 26.69). Under 16 - Ella Sorohan 3rd (200m); Jasmine Timmons McEneaney 6th (200m); Fiach Crowley 10th (200 - 24.66). July – (1-5) Road Runners

The sun was up and the roads were hot but the runners were out and about. July 1st - Dundrum Coillte 10K - Billy Coogan came home under the 30m to place second in 29.59. There were PBs for Colm Smyth 34.34, David fitzGerald 37.54, David Devine 41.12, Tara Brett 45.14 and Casey Lalor 46.47. Other good performances from Tomasz Jarzabeck, Rory Lehane, Alan Mitchell and John Kearns. July 3rd - Mick Murphy Memorial - 6th Eamon O'Connor(16.15) and Padraig Ruane  (18.11). Juky 5th - Clara AC %K - Pat Purcell (21.13).

There were many exciting events at the national Under 20 and Under 23 championships this weekend.  KCH were very much in the mix particularly with Pia Langton claiming the U20 800m title. Also in U20 Tom Murphy proved his stamina to win the gold in the 3000m steeplechase. Kate Maher improved her ranking within the 4x400m hopefuls. Jun 21 Irish Runner/National 5 Mile

The national 5 mile road race in the Phoenix Park today brought out a large number of athletes. KCH had a number taking part. Two performing exceptionally well were Ger Forde and Jamie Gahan. Ger took the bronze medal in 24.48 and Jamie finished 5th in 25.27. Gill Kavanagh had a PB of 38.14 and Eamon Boland clocked 41.40.

Jun 21 Waterford Viking Marathon

The Waterford Viking Marathon is more than a marathon in that it includes a quarter marathon, a half marathon and a marathon. KCH members sampled all three on this occasion. Graham Bourne completed the marathon- Bridget Rochford and Statia O'Carroll did the quarter marathon- and quite a number went the half marathon route. Among those were Pat Purcell, Eddie Hawe, Martina McGrath, Orla McPhillips (1.29.39 PB), Matthew Warren (1.29.10 PB), Tomasz Jarzabek (1.31.10 PB), Trevor Spillane, Emma Ayres, Tara Ronan, Aoife Jarzabek, Laura O'Reilly,Paul Whelan and Mairead Bacon.

There were a number of PBs for club members at tonight's Moycarkey 5k - David FitzGerald 17.57; Darragh Stone 18.10; Matthew Warren 18.41; Ian Hayes 19.09. Included in the finishers were John Behan, Mike Cullen, Derek Aylward, Rory Lehane, Adam Clancy and Gerald Fogarty.

IMC  IMC meet in Irishtown, Ringsend, had Cathal O'Reilly competing in the 5000m. Cathal finished 8th in 14.26.90. THE MILE MARKER Some 38 Harriers took part in this year's Mile Marker. Eleven completed the 5Km with Martin Grace leading them in on 21.09. Twenty-two took part in the 5 Miles where Darragh Stone had the honour of being our first home. His time was 31.45. May 30/31 Roads – Here and There

It was a busy weekend on the roads, especially with the Women's mini marathon and the choice of distances in Cork City. Three KCH did the half marathon in Cork - Claire Dermody 1.32.17; Ciaran Hughes 1.34.18 and Andy Hanrahan 1.37.36. Among those running the mini marathon was Gretta Beckett (54.28).Fergus Horan took on the Ballyskenach 5k and had a PB of 18.19. Nearer home we had further variety in Tullaroan where Paula Hynes did the 5K in 24.25 and Thomas Meehan completed the half marathon in 1.39.11.
