Oct 26 Marathon Day

Marathons were the order of the day today. Some thirty or so KCH athletes were in action covering some 1200Km with most of the distance being done in Dublin but three travelled to Germany and two to Portugal. There were many PBs. Roseanna Knox knocked four minutes of her previous best time. Oct 25 Leinster Even Cross Country

Gowran athletic club hosted this year's Even Ages and Novice Leinster cross country. Of the twelve championship races KCH had athletes competing in eleven - the odd one out being the boys U16. Championship medals were won in nine of the races with a total of 68 Leinster Championship medals coming to the club. Oct 19 The Open Cross Country

KCH were represented at multiple events at today's Open Cross Country in Abbottstown. In the Junior Men 6K Callum Barrron, Ruairi McEvoy and Kyrell Mtinsi placed 6th, 7th and 21st respectively. The Junior Ladies had 4.5K where Clodagh O'Callaghan was 9th and Pia Langton not far behind her in 11th place. Hannah Kehoe went in the Senior Ladies 6K and finished in 16th place. In the Senior Men 8K we had two athletes - Cathal O'Reilly and Will Fox. Cathal came 12th with Will finishing 37th. The young juveniles were out in big numbers in the relays. The under 11 [...]

Oct 17 Cross Country Stateside

Two of our US College students took part in the Nuttycombe Ivitational - Shay McEvoy, Tulsa, placed 42nd and was first scorer on the Tulsa team that placed 24th. Billy Coogan, Iona placed 169th. The Iona team finished in 23rd place.

Oct 12 Cross Country in Castlecomer

It was the turn of the uneven ages today in Castlecomer and the fine weather continued so that conditions were thereby enhanced. KCH had big numbers in the young ages but not so big in the older ages. There was a considerable amount of gold collected. There were team wins for Under 11 girls, Under 13 boys, Under 15 girls, Under 19 girls, Novice Women and Novice Men. The annual Primary Schools CC drew large crowds to the Castle Park today. With the weather summer like and volunteers to help the event went of successfully to the enjoyment of all. When the points were totalled it was the St Canice's Co-ed School, who not for the first time, won the shields.

Oct 07 Leinster Schools CE

A number of our younger athletes competed in today's Leinster Schools Combined Events Championships. In Minor Ella Trayer, Heidi Ryan and Emily O'Keeffe scored 26th, 39th and 35th respectively. Conor Knox placed 7th in the boys competition.  In the Junior Championships Mia Brennan was 6th and Kelly Charters was 8th. For the boys Fiach Crowley won bronze and Danny Direen placed 6th. The CBC had two good results in the Senior - Gold for Killian Redmond and a 4th place for Cillian Daly. Well done boys and girls.

At An Cosantoir in the Phoenix Park Leanne Butler ran the 10k in 41.21 and Thomas Meehan had a PB of 42.13 for the distance.

Oct 06 CC in Ballycurran

The Even Ages County Kilkenny Cross Country Championships were held today in Ballycurran. KCH had good numbers in action and consequently good results followed. Betty Carroll got the medals rolling with gold in the girls U8 but it was in the team results that KCH impressed. Three sets of medals were won by the under 10s - gold and silver by the girls and bronze by the boys. Oct 03 It’s Quiz Time

The Club Quiz was held in Kytlers tonight with 25 tables creating a full house and a great social night. 1st prize went to the McEvoys, 2nd to Sprint Finish and 3rd to Pints and Personal Best.  Thanks to all who participated and especially May, Martina, Noel and quiz master for organising the event. A special thanks to all who donated prizes and in particular Kytler's; Statham's, Pembroke; Nu Gamma Fitness; The Watershed.
