Six athletes from the club took part in the AAI Games in Morton stadium today. Alex Cullen, back from injury, had a PB with second place in the 400m (47.18). Eoin Everard, fit as ever, was second in the 1500 (3.57.23). Kate Maher had a PB of 24.22 finishing 3rd in the 200. Aisling Phelan went in the 100m (12.46), Clodagh O'Callaghan in 1500 and Kyrell Mitsny (1500 403.36).

Our juveniles have been looking outward in recent times as athletes are being selected for international events.  SCHOOLS Patrick Wall and Victor Lamph were selected for the SIAB on The Mary Peters track in Belfast. Both represented their respective schools with quality performances. Victor clocked a PB of 48.32 when winning the 400m and Patrick had a time of 58.36 to win 4th place in the 400m hurdles. THE NATIONALS Day 3 on the national juveniles was held in sweltering heat in Tullamore. Times would therefore not be expected to be broken. There were many exciting events at the national Under 20 and Under 23 championships this weekend.  KCH were very much in the mix particularly with Pia Langton claiming the U20 800m title. Also in U20 Tom Murphy proved his stamina to win the gold in the 3000m steeplechase. Kate Maher improved her ranking within the 4x400m hopefuls. This was another busy weekend in Tullamore for two days of Track and Field with the u13-u19 juvenile All-Ireland finals. For Kate Maher it was a big result in the 400m final to achieve the European U18 standard. All we now is selection to go her way. Victor Lamph also had some cheer with gold in his 400m. Our under 11 girls gave a good account of themselves in the final of the national relays in Tullamore today. In a competitiion f 16 teams they placed 5th. Team - Holly Quinn, Mayar Elfaedy, Molly Costello, Ava Ledingham and Amenze Victor.  Amenze and Florence O'Donoghue were in the final of the 60m PAIRS. Their combined time for the event was 18.99 seconds. Roisin Hyland took part in the under 12 high jump and placed 5th with a clearance of 1.25. Well done girls.

This year's Tailteann Games were held in SETU, Carlow. Leinster placed second with two KCH athletes helping out. Victor Lamph was 2nd in 400m (48.99) and Patrick Wall came third in the 400 hurdles (57.82). Both were part of the 4x400 relay which placed 2nd. Both athletes will now be part of the Ireland team in the SIAB in Belfast on the 18th July. Athletics Ireland held relay girls 4x100 and 4x400 relay trials for the world juniors. The mild weather this evening helped to add to the competition and the enjoyment at the county B's hosted by Thomastown AC. In a more relaxed atmosphere than the A's the athletes can mingle and develop friendships that help in motivating a love of the sport. This evenings results:-  Under 8 - Fionn Quinn 1/80, 1/300. Tullamore track was a busy place this weekend for the holding of the Leinster Juvenile track and field. KCH had large numbers entered and there were some excellent results for those who made the trip. In all our athletes qualified for 40 individual events at national winning 8 gold, 9 silver, 13 bronze and ten 4th place finishes and many more acquiring PBs. IMC  IMC meet in Irishtown, Ringsend, had Cathal O'Reilly competing in the 5000m. Cathal finished 8th in 14.26.90. THE MILE MARKER Some 38 Harriers took part in this year's Mile Marker. Eleven completed the 5Km with Martin Grace leading them in on 21.09. Twenty-two took part in the 5 Miles where Darragh Stone had the honour of being our first home. His time was 31.45.
