May 24/25 Molly & Pia in Belgium

Molly Daly and Pia Langton were in Brussels for the weekend taking part in the IFAM Outdoor. Molly had double PB's 2/100m in 12.04 and 1/200m in 24.32. Pia had a good workout in the 800m to finish 5th in 2.08.19.

May 25 Leinster Combined Events

All our athletes participating in the Leinster Combined events championships in Carlow today came home with a either a medal and/or an enjoyable and successful day out. This competition provides less pressure than the individual single event. In addition to the variety of the events there is always the possibility of a high score in the final distance event leading to a chance to move up the rankings. Mixed weather conditions greeted the large numbers gathering in Carlow for the annual Leinster Relay championships. KCH had teams in most of the 4x100 relays but were marked absent in the 4x400 events. Medals were won in nine of the races - Three gold (Under 10 boys, under 13 boys and under 15 girls); Four silver (Under 12 boys, under 16 girls, under 16 boys and under 17 girls) and two bronze (Under 13 girls, under 15 boys). May 21 Victory in Enfield

The Peugeot Road Series continued this evening with the staging of the Streets of Enfield 5K. The KCH trio of Eoin Everard 14.44, Jamie Gahan 14.55 and Callum Barron 15.15 took first team prize. Congratulations. Also taking part and achieving good runs were Eamon O'Connor 16.09, Padraig ruane 16. 26, Nuala FitzGibbon 19.00 and Sarah Corcoran 22.23.

May 18 Stoneyford 5k/10k

The annual Stoneyford 5/10k was held today in glorious sunshine adding some pressure to the participants. Eoin Molloy clocked 21.04 in the 5k. The 10K had Derek Aylward finishing in 40.24, Paudi Hyland 42.11, James O'Gorman 45.48, Rosie Alcorn 47.26, Sean O'Hargain51.23.  Well done to the juvenile runners including U12s James Healy and Conor Delaney and U11s Winter, Ethan and Harry.

May 18 National May Open

Three of our juveniles had excellent results from Tullamore today. Competing in the National May Open Molly Daly placed 2nd in the 200m in 25.00. Not far behind was Kate Maher who finished 5th in 25.34. Alex Cullen was part of the U20 4x400 relay squad which achieved the qualifying standard for the Europeans in Finland. Well done all.

Some great performances by great individuals in different places. Billy Coogan took first place in the 3000m steeplechase at the MAAC in NewJersey. His time was 9.2.54. Ger Forde was in the Phoenix Park for the National 5K Road race. Running close to his PB he clocked 14.58 to finish 9th. Shay McEvoy, fresh from his 3rd place in the 10000m, he took second in the 5000 at the American Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. His time was 14.13.05. Well done to Shay McEvoy, representing Tulsa University in the American Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. Running in the 10,000m he placed third in 30.17.44 garnering valuable points for his college team.

May 12/13 Leinster Schools

Tullamore was the venue for this year's Day 1 and Day 2 of the Leinster Schools track and field finals. KCH had a number of athletes competing on both days and acquitted themselves well. The local schools had representatives in minor, junior, intermediate, under 16 and senior events. Among the medal winners were Ellen Daly 3/300 hurdles, Kate Maher 1/300, Alex Cullen 1/400, Molly Daly 1/200, Kyrell Mtinsi 3/800, Pia Langton 1/800, Ruairi McEvoy 2/5000, Kara Canavan 3/200, Aisling Phelan 2/200, Marija Kraljevic 3/500, Sinead Cormack 1/mile, Conor Knox 1/shot, Heidi Ryan 1/javelin.   Others faring well, if not getting a [...]

May 11 Day 2 County Championships

Day 2 in Scanlon Park saw some new names on the medal list. Among them Nuala FitzGibbon who won the  senor 3000m in 11.29. Graine Behan had double gold  - in 400 and 800. But multi-eventor Graham Bourne was once again king with four individual medals. And What about the Relays - Very good. Among the juveniles there were many with three individual visits to the podium. Among the double golds were - Daniel McIntyre, Daniel Greene, Conor Knox, Emily O'Keeffe, Patrick Wall and Cormac Holden.
