This year's National League commenced with a Preliminary Round held today in Santry. In the Men's Club section the KCH team was one of eighteen participating. Team manager, Jack Manning, introduced a number of young men to the event and was rewarded with good results as the team finished in eight place. KCH had three athletes on the Leinster teams competing in the Tailteann Games Schools Interprovincial held in Carlow today. All three proved worthy of their selection and contributed strongly to the success of the Leinster teams. Pia Langton won the 800m in 2.13.70  and also ran a leg of the 4x300m relay which came 2nd. Molly Daly was 2nd in 300m hurdles in 43.58 and Louie Raggett had a PB of 6.14 when he placed 2nd in the long jump.

Jun 22 Aoibhe in Poland

June was a busy time on the international stage for Aoibhe Richardson. Early in the month as part of the Irish team in the Europa cup an finished 19th in the 10,000 event. Today she was in Silesa, Poland for the European Games. Competing in the 5000m she placed third in 16.45.02.

Jun 18 Leinster Star Awards

The 2022 Leinster Star Awards were presented to the awardees during the Juvenile Track and Field Championships in Tullamore. KCH athletes Molly Daly and Adam Slawinski got the Kilkenny Juvenile Awards. Both were recognised by Leinster Athletics for their outstanding performances in 2022 - Molly in 80m, 200m and 250m hurdles and Adam in 100m and 200m. Congratulations to the athletes and their coaches.

Extremes of weather - from sunburst to thunderblast - greeted athletes and all at the Leinster  juvenile track and field  championships in Tullamore. Medals, PBs and Championship Records were achieved. Apart from the new records the athletes returned 26 individual medals - 12 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze. Under 12s - Conor Knox added a bronze in the Turbo Javelin to add to earlier success in the shot. Aoibhinn Kelly and Marcus Lyons  jumped well and finished 9th in their respective long jumps. Jun 14 County B in Thomastown

Fine weather and a relaxed atmosphere combined to provide a very enjoyable evening of athletics at the County B's track and field in Thomastown this evening. KCH had athletes competing in all ages from U8 to U15. Over seventy medals were won by these young athletes with star performances from first time competitor Under 12 athlete Aoibhe Arslan. Aoibhe won 80m, 800m and Long Jump. The County Road Novice was held in Kilmacow today in conjunction with The Little South Run. KCH had a team in the men's event and led by Andrew Smyth, who finished in second place, the team were first.

Jun 10 Irish Miler’s Club

Club achievements in today's "Irish Milers club" were Cathal O'Reilly 4.07.64 for the Mile, Eoin Everard 4.10.6 in the mile, Jack Manning 49.55 for 400; Cliodhna Manning 54.33 for 400 and Hannah Kehoe 4.29.30 in the 1500.

Jun 11 Leinster Juvenile Relays

Juveniles from the club descended en masse on Tullamore today for the Inter Club Relays. With twenty-three teams in action it was a busy day for coaches and officials as well as the athletes. The hard work put in over the season brought amazing results as nineteen of the twenty-three  teams qualified for the finals. And that wasn't the end as eleven of those teams brought home Leinster medals - 4 Gold, 3 Silver, 4 Bronze. Jun 11 The Mile Marker

Twenty plus club members took part in this year's mile marker. James Ledingham was first home in the five mile (26.48) and Padraig Ruane placed second (29.06). Paddy Kelly was first juvenile (30.40). In the ten mile event Brian Maher continued on his winning ways crossing the line in 5613. Paul Moran placed fifth (1.02.53). Full results on Popupraces.
