Following his victory in the Streets of Portlaoise on St Patrick's Day Eoin Everard headed to Poland this weekend for the World Indoor Masters. Competing in the M35 division of the 3000m in Torun, Eoin ran a top quality race easing to the front with a 100m sprint to take WORLD GOLD in 8.49.01. Congratulartions

We had five relay teams qualified from the Leinsters for this years national indoor finals held in Athlone today. All five competed with skill and determination resulting in four out of the five coming back to Kilkenny with medals. Gold for U13 girls, silver for U17 girls and bronze for girls  under 14 and 15 while the girls U16 came third in a competitive heat. Mar 17 Streets of Portlaoise

While many were out on Parade duty today others were out for a run. The annual Streets of Portlaoise attracted others - to run and to watch. Eoin Everard wore the KCH colours across the finish line in 14.36 to take first place. Ger Forde placed 7th in 14.54. Junior athlete Myles Hewitt clocked 15.53. Trust Mtinsi finished in 16.47 while O/50 athlete Paul Phelan finished in 19.51. Among the others Harriers involved were Paddy Walsh, Noel Sugrue, Brigid Rochford and Jacinta Mulroe.

Mar 11 Schools All Ireland CC

There were some fine performances at the Schools All Ireland CC in Carraiganore, Co Waterford today. Loreto had first team in Senior girls. Hannah Kehoe in 6th place led them in. Other team members were Isabelle Burke, Pia Langton, Alexia Albertin Molinera and Pia O'Grady. Loreto also had Cristian Capitan Martin 21st in Intermediate. For the CBS there was Robert and Billy Coogan. Robert was 8th in Minor Boys while Billy was outstanding to place 4th in the senior. Mar 12 Day 4 Leinster Indoors – Individuals

In addition to being part of their respective relay squads Ella Wall and Noah Gilmore took part in their High Jump events. Ella placed 5th U17 with a jump of 1.50 while Noah won silver U19 with a 1.55 clearance. Well done.

Another busy day for our juveniles with large numbers competing in the Leinster Indoor relays. Thanks to the good work of the coaches and the performance of the athletes it was a very successful competition for the club. With thirteen teams from the club taking part twelve qualified through the heats to reach the finals and seven of those won medals - two gold, three second and two bronze. Mar 12 Bohermeen 1/2 Marathon

Well done to all who travelled to County Meath at the weekend to compete in the Bohermeen half marathon. Among those taking part were  Trust Mtinsi 76.53, Declan Walshe 87.39, Mary Prendergast 90.03, Andy Hanrahan 91.48, Ciaran Hughes 92.47, Roseanna Knox 94.06, Rory Conlon 94.13.

Mar 4/5 Juvenile Indoors in Athlone

KCH had large numbers at the Leinster Indoor T&F in Athlone this weekend. There was a major amount of personal bests and quite an amount of Leinster medals won across the various age groups. Molly Daly, U16, was the star performer winning gold in 60m, 60m hurdles and the 200m and if that wasn't enough her time of 25.18 was a championship Best Performance. Younger sister Ellen had gold in 60m hurdles under 14 and a silver in the 60m. Also U14 Sinead Cormack won gold in the 800m. U18 athlete Adam Slawinski had double gold - 60m and 200m. [...]
