STONEYFORD There was a fine turnout for this years 5K Run in support of Stoneyford United F C. A number of KCH members took advantage of the run to work off some of the Christmas fare. Among those who did the run were Paddy Kelly who finished the race in second place in 16.43. Among the other finishers were Michael and Geraldine Grogan, Gillian Costello, Lorcan O'Toole, Casey Lawlor and Carmel O'Toole.  TULLAROAN Tullaroan was busy with a number of options. Today's weather provided and excellent opportunity for a gentle workout in preparation for the Christmas festivities. And the local runners responded with a great turnout - while old friends renewed memories of times past and stories of the last twelve months a generous contribution was provided for Cois Nore. While our national teams were raising the joy over in Portugal our future winners were enjoying a workout in Graiguenamanagh. The reason being the county B uneven championships. Our O/35 Men were in good form and took first team medals. Results: Under 7 - 2 Eimear Walsh, 3 Kate Robinson. While all the focus was on the national cross country the county road walks went ahead somewhat under the radar. However it was gold and silver for our U12s. Well done. Girls - 1 Caoimhe Malone, 2 Nora Carroll. Boys - 1 Cillian Maher.

Dec 07 National Uneven in Abbottstown

The final cross country for our athletes took place n Abbottstown today. It was the national uneven ages plus Novice and the athletics once again experienced a considerable amount of muck - particularly on  one part of the course. Results. Under 11- 139 Alex O'Donovan, 158 Ethan Maher Under 13 - 103 Kate Kelly, 130 Ella O'Flaherty, 135 Ella Burke. Dec 05 The Medieval Mile

What a day of rain we had today. But in cleared just in time and the crowds came out to run our annual Medieval Mile in conjunction with Yulefest Kilkenny. Starting at the military barracks it followed the usual route to end on the Parade. This years field had 60 plus KCH going to the start line together with athletes from 28 clubs from near and far.  Ruairi McEvoy, a junior, was first across the finish line in 4.29. This year's senior cross country was hosted by the Thomastown club in the fields at Grennan. With over forty athletes taking part in the Waterford half marathon yesterday and others helping out at the Leinster B's in Stradbally KCH were without many of their top distance runners but with great determination by all who made it to Thomastown they made it a successful day out. Peter Lynch made his return to competition today with a blistering run on the road in Connecticut, USA. The event was the 89th holding of the Manchester Road Race on the streets of Manchester, Connecticut. The race which had over 12,000 going to the start line this year is unusual because of the distance - 4.737 miles.  Peter went out strong at the start and maintained a steady pace throughout to finish 4th in 21.08. The annual Waterford half-marathon took place today with in excess of 2000 runners going to the start line. KCH had 40+ athletes taking part. Our top ten (Ladies and Men) finishers were Ladies - Leanne butler, Lisa Brennan, Claire Dermody, Jane Campbell, Kate Sugrue, Mags Clancy, Geraldine Grogan, Laura Andrews, Grainne Behan, Annemarie Shortall.
