Sept 29 Juveniles Excell in Thomastown


Kilkennyy athletics has moved into cross-country mode. Today the focus was on the cross-country relays. While KCH numbers were down todays participants were excellent. There were wins for girls under 11, girls under 13 and boys under 15. The boys under 11 and girls under 13 also scored with third place finishes. Accumulating 5.5 points the club finished in second place behind Gowran who had 6.5 ponts. Sept 29 Trust in Berlin


Trust Mtinsi continues to show his talent. In today's Berlin Marathon he knocked four minutes off his previous best time for the event with a new time of 2.33.09.

Sept 28 Aoibhe – Francisco Star


Aoibhe Richardson having graduated from Portland is now in San Francisco doing a Masters. Running in the Roy Griak Invitational in Minnesota she mastered the field to cross the finish line in a comfortable first place - looks like a shining star in her new college colours.

Sept 22 Cathy Wins Senior at St Senan’s Open CC


Rain and more rain greeted the athletes at the St Senan'sopen cross-country in Kilmacow today. With a limited number of KCH athletes taking part it was the quality of their performances that impressed. Darragh O'Callaghan started the day with gold in boys under 8. Ella O'Flaherty ran well in girls U8. Under 9s were very much to the fore with Daire O'Flaherty and Peter Quinn placing 2nd and 4th respectively in the boys race. Sept 21 Peter’s Rhodes Run


The Tulsa College cross-country team had a very convincing win today in the Rhodes College International 8K. They were well helped by KCH athlete, Peter Lynch, who placed fourth in 24.25 from a field of 214 runners.

Sept 15 The Danesfort J J Reddy


The annual Danesfort  JJ Reddy attracked large numbers again this year and KCH had a considerable number taking part particularky in the 10K. In the 5K Padraig Ruane (17.05) and Cathal Kearney (17.22) took first and third place respectively. Also running the 5K were Olive Mullally, Caitriona Keneally, Nicky Flynn and Karen Nugent. The 10K also saw impressive performances with Trust Mtinsi first home in 33.46 and James Kearney individual fourth in 36.09. Impressive for the ladies was Claire Dermody with 42.30. Sept 14 Medieval Road Runs


Today was Medieval Marathon day with runs of varying distances in and around the medieval city. The running "triplets" Deirdre Scott, Bregeen Murphy and Una Byrne, generally seen together in training and competition, took on the marathon and true to form crossed the finish line on the Parade in 4.47.39. Their running "cousin" Ann Brett was not far behind finishing in 4.47.43. Running the half marathon were Paul Moran, Ciaran Hughes, Catherine Ryan, Edwin Harper and Dympna Kelly with first mentioned Paul Moran taking the silver in 1.23.36. Aug 31 The Quinlan Cup Half Marathon


Over 800 runners completed the Quinlan Cup half matathon in Tullamore today. Our athletes performed exceptionally well with Trust Mtinsi finishing 6th in 1.12.57. Ladies Jacinta Mulroe (1.30.14), Lisa Brennan (1.32.44) and Claire Dermody (1.32.49) were among the top female runners. Among those  to perform well were Davy Hogan (1.32.48) and Paul Phelan (1.45.52).
