Rain and more rain greeted the athletes at the St Senan’sopen cross-country in Kilmacow today. With a limited number of KCH athletes taking part it was the quality of their performances that impressed. Darragh O’Callaghan started the day with gold in boys under 8. Ella O’Flaherty ran well in girls U8. Under 9s were very much to the fore with Daire O’Flaherty and Peter Quinn placing 2nd and 4th respectively in the boys race. Emma Kelly won silver in the girls race where Lucy Maher also ran well.   The under 10s had Ellen Daly and Sinead Cormack in the action while the U12s were strong with Martha Bergin, Kate Maher, Molly Daly and Clodagh O’Callaghan.

The juveniles didn’t take all the glory. Master athlete, Cathy Millett, left the rest of the senior runners behind her as she took the senior title.
