This was a weekend of half marathons - pride of place going to COPENHAGEN where the World Athletics Half Marathon was staged. Peter Lynch put in an impressive performance to place 44th in a very competitive field of elite runners. His time was 1.02.10.  Also impressive was that of Leanne Butler who covered the course in 1.28.58. This was Leanne's third successive half marathon over the last three weekends. Last week it was in the Medieval half(1.29.28) and the week before it was Dingle (1.27.35). Gillian Kavanagh and Jackie Varley were in the Phoenix Park for the IRISH LIFE DUBLIN [...]

Three athletes were on the road in Kerrry tis weekend. Leanne Butler and Jackie Varley ran the Dingle Half Marathon. Their respective times were 1.27.35 and 2.10.04. Stephen Bourke did the full marathon in 5.16.27.

This was another busy weekend on the road. The medieval Marathon with 10K, half marathon, 30K and full marathon provided plenty of choice irrespective of where runners are at in their prep for the National marathon. Gowran A.C. hosted this year's County 4 mile which was held in conjunction with the Gowran 4 mile. After the busy half marathon last weekend there wasn't massive appetite for another big turnout. However KCH did well - particularly the ladies team of Rhonda Griffith, Agnes Delahunty and Mary Ryan which won the gold medals and Rhonda was third individual.  Martin Grace, Trevor Charters, Billy Culleton and Ian Comerford landed the bronze medals. In the open race Mossie Roantree was third. Other KCH finishers were  Andrew O'Carroll, Andrew Smyth, Angela Carroll, Martina McGrath and Bernard Gannon. Well done all. [...]

There was a feast of half marathons this weekend with KCH members actively involved. Some twenty headed to the national half marathon in Tullamore. The ladies had particular success with Aoife Nolan 1.27.56, Emma Ayres 1.29.14 and Claire Dermody 1.29.38 scoring first Leinster club. Then with Tara Ronan 1.35.38 they were part of the county team - also first in Leinster. Aoife, Emma and Tara all had PBs. Other PBs were had by Derek Aylward 1.26.12, Tomasz Jarzabek 1.26.55, Padraig Hyland 1.29.20, David Bird 1.35.26, Stephen McNamee 1.50.34. Just three of our members took on this year's National Masters which were held in the Morton Stadium. Graham Bourne turned in his now regular golden performance winning the O/50 100m hurdles, triple jump and 3000m steeplechase (11.49.40). Ashling Burns took the bronze in the O/40 javelin with a PB of 24.72. It was gold for James Ledingham in the 800m O/40 (2.03.79).

South East Greenway A KCH team pulled off a worthy achievement n this year's South East Greenway 5K. Team Members were Eoin Everard (14.31), who held off strong competition in a sprint finish, Eamon O'Connor (15.26), Padraig Ruane and Emma Ayres (18.04). Others who had PBs for the distance were Trevor Spillane(18.25), Ian Hayes (18.43),David Bird 19.01), Jacinta Mulroe (19.10) and Neil Gunning 21.37).  Knocknarea 8mile in Sligo- David FitzGerald 51.55 Athy half - Emma Ayres 1.31.48, Kate Sugrue 1.33.00. Youghal half - Andy Hanrahan 1.36.37.
