A great crowd turned out for the club’s annual awards presentation which was held in The Pembroke Hotel. 2025 proved a very successful year for the club. Club Chairperson, Nicholas Dunphy, welcomed all to the awards and thanked the athletes for their dedication and achievements during the past year. He thanked  all the coaches, managers, club officers and the parents for their ongoing support of the athletes and the hotel for hosting our event.  The citations were delivered by Sean Lynch while Club Registrar, May Hutt, assisted the chairperson with the presentation. Streets of Kilkenny Officially Launched!!

With just over 6 and a half weeks to the gun, the Streets of Kilkenny was officially launched. Langtons, Harry Bar the location for the official launch with members of the local press our sponsor’s and our members in attendance. Great weather, great location and a great day'a athletics at Grangemouth stadium the national athletics stadium of Scotish athletics. Right from the gun the competition matched the weather, hot. Up first in the late morning for KCH and Ireland was Rory. Excitement was palpable. In front of a supportive crowd, the bar was quickly raised to 1.96m. The club is delighted to see the hard work of our U14 girl's relay team get the recognition deserved with a nomination for the David Buggy Motors sports star of the month with KCLR.  The work they put into training with there coaches is phenomenal and always with a smile and laugh. The work there coaches put in to get them to this level also has to be recognised as without them it couldn't happen.  In the past year, this team have had some fantastic performance as can be seen. Lots of people complain and give out when they hit the big four-zero but not Brian. Brian has taken it in his stride and went from strength to strength. Work-life balance is never easy and it's worse when your work is a farm and you’ve done your forty hours by Wednesday night, after being up all night calving cows or looking after new-born calves. Aoibhe Richardson takes on the 10,000m on the track tonight in the NCAA West Regional representing Portland Pilots for the University of Portland in Oregon USA.  Aoibhe is in her third year studying Psychology, having completed one year at the University of Limerick before travelling to the University of Portland. She is staying in Portland this summer as she was awarded an internship with Nike, who have their headquarters in Portland. A battle for glory on the Streets of Kilkenny

On a glorious Holy Thursday night over 600 runners took to the start line for the annual streets of Kilkenny 5K. The streets of the marble city make the perfect backdrop for a run on any evening but when surrounded by 600 eager runners the atmosphere is just fantastic. In a very hot national indoor arena in Abbotstown in Dublin Kilkenny City Harriers athletes donned there black and amber singlet to take on the best of Ireland in the AAI open games. There was a fantastic atmosphere and great cheer as all athletes took on their own and showed their talent. Shay McEvoy had a magnificent performance to set a new PB and take the top spot in a 3k time of 8.42 minutes. Callan Byrne also claimed the top spot over 60m in a time of 7.1 seconds. National Junior & U/23 Indoor Championships

KCH athletes made the trip to Athlone to take on tough competition at the national Junior and u23 championships. A small field of athletes made the trip with some fantastic performances and some unfortunate events. Annie O’Connor took on the 800m claiming the bronze medal after a well fought race. Adam Fitzpatrick was out in the 1500m and was very unfortunate leading into the last bend with 20 metres to go the gold medal in sights was accidently tripped and went down. KCH Awards Night

A great night was had by all at the KCH awards in the Set Theatre Langton’s at Langton House Hotel a fantastic celebration of all the success in 2017. The awards night is a great way for athletes to meet up and bond outside of training. It is also a great social event for parents to get to know each other and development relationships with the coaches.
