With just over 6 and a half weeks to the gun, the Streets of Kilkenny was officially launched. Langtons, Harry Bar the location for the official launch with members of the local press our sponsor’s and our members in attendance. A great morning with a short few words from chairman John Maye before the journalist got there chance to ask the tough questions!! Huge thanks to those who attended the launch morning. The third year sees some big changes. A whole new course starting from the parade with the picturesque Kilkenny Castle as the backdrop down high street into Irish town following across the St Francis Bridge down by MacDonagh Junction on to John Street down past our major sponsor the Langton House Hotel up Rose Inn Street turn right up high street and start all over again!!!! At the end of the second lap, it’s left up to the parade for your photo finish! You could be setting a new course record or a new PB. When we started the Streets of Kilkenny

John Maye said “We’re overwhelmed with the response to the race in just 2 short years as we approach our third edition. Delighted to have been included in the Kia Road Race series and grateful for the huge support shown to the event by the local council and Gardaí. Our association with Langtons continues and deepens as they become our title sponsor for this year’s event. The event will cater for all levels of runners and should attract a large crowd down to watch on the night.” We are delighted to be able to show our wonderful medieval city to so many runners who travel both far and near to run the Streets of Kilkenny. We are extremely excited this year to introduce a finisher’s medal on a new bigger and improved route.

If you can’t run this year but want to get involved we would love to have you on board as we will need volunteers to steward the course to ensure the success of past years. If you are available let any of the committee know drop us a line on any of our social channels or through KCH.ie

Huge thanks to all who are involved in the race in any way so far! Looking forward to welcoming you all to Kilkenny and to Langton’s to the after party!!
