Some of our adults were competing in diverse places over the last few days.
BRUSSELS – Cliodhna Manning continued her return to top form with a good run at the IFAM in Brussels on Saturday. There she achieved a 53.66 for the 400m. Pia Langton ran in a heat of the 800 placing 3rd in 2.10.03.
ENFIELD – The Bob Heffernan and Mary Hanley 5k road race – a good run by Jamie Gahan in 14.58. Also running well were Padraig Ruane 16.19, Colm Smyth 17.11 and Helen Bacon 23.35.
EDINBURGH – Five ladies headed to Edinburgh for the weekend with four (Kate Sugrue 3.36.16, Oonagh Guilfoyle 3.39.57, Leisha O’Connell 3.43.24, Anne Marie Shortall 3.47.39) doing the marathon and one (Paula Hynes 1.48.07) doing the half marathon.
CANADA- Across the Atlantic there was a big race – the Cabot Trail Relay – just 276.33km. Lorcan O’Toole competed over a 19km leg which he ran in 90 minutes.
MANCHESTER – Cathal O’Reilly and Myles Hewlett ran the 1500 in the British Milers event with Cathal clocking 3.51, marginally outside his PB, and Myles ran his 1500 in 4.08.
SOUTH CAROLINA – Grace Richardson, representing NYU, had a fab run in the 10,000m at Myrtle Beach to finish 2nd in 34.55. She followed that the following day with 15.59 for the 5000m.
