Shay McEvoy and Eoin Everard made the trip to Waterford to compete in the BritishMilers event there. Both went in 3k races and posted excellent times. Eoin ran it in 8 minutes and 3 seconds. Shane's time was 8.22.78 which gives him the qualifying time for the European Juniors. Congratulations.
A thunder storm started the day in Kilkenny. Rain threatened in Tullamore but it was the heat that developed as the day progressed. Than to Noel Maher, tent mender extraordinaire, we had shelter and a base for all to meet and support each other. Being an All-Ieland the competition was tough. All our athletes coped well. Brian Maher got the club off to a busy and successful weekend. Running in St Coca's 5K in Kilcock he clocked 14.44 to finish in 4th place. Padraig Ruane also ran well coming over the finish line in 16.38.
