Fifteen of our juveniles took part in Day 2 of the national track and field championships in Tullamore today. Most successful were our two under 15 girls. They may have been disappointed with disqualification in yesterdays relay final but they weren’t to be denied two days running. Aisling Phelan won the gold beating Ellen Daly by a mere two hundreths of a second. Matias Quaglia also excelled. Returning overnight from the SIAB in Wales he won the 100m U16 in a PB of 11.04. There were other major PBs – Jack O’Neill with 24.49 in the Discus and Alex Cullen with 49.45 for the 400m.
