After a number of weather related cancellations the 2024 county O/35 cross country went ahead in Thomastown tonight. KCH with a small number of athletes involved scored second team in the ladies led home by Oonagh Guilfoyle in bronze medal position. The men fared somewhat better to take team gold with Paddy Walsh winning individual silver. As a consequence of the additional points (5) KCH with 32 points claim the senior cross country cup for 2024. St Joseph’s were second with 19 and Gowran third with 18.
Results: Ladies- 3 Oonagh Guilfoyle, 4 Kate Millea and 8 Annemarie Shortall. Men – 2 Paddy Walsh, 4 Mike Cullen, 9 Mark O’Duffy, 16 David McKenna, 18 Neil Gunning.
Mallow:- Five athletes competed in the Mallow 10 mile. They were Jacinta Mulroe 1/08.45, Oonagh Guilfoyle 1.13.01 PB, Annemarie Shortall 1.18.34, Adam Clancy 1.08.39 PB and Mags Clancy 1.17.03 PB.
Dunboyne:- Three athletes took part in the Dunboyne 10K- Eamon O’Connor 35.18, Colm smith 35.33 PB and Fergal Horan 42.23.
