The national Combined Events were held in Carlow today in conjunction with the national Masters. Competing in the Masters O/35 was Graham Bourne. Graham won silver in Heavy Hammer, Steeplechase, 400 Hurdles and also in the Pentathlon where he competed in Discus, Javelin, Long Jump, 200m and 1500m where he accumulated a points total to 1983.
We had three juveniles competing in under 15 Pentathlon- Mia Brennan, Kelly Charters and Fiach Crowley – finishing respectively in 2nd, 5th and 6th. Their points for the event were Mia 2734, Kelly 2484 and Fiach 1115. Noah Gilmore won silver in the Senior Decathlon competing in five events on Saturday and the other five on Sunday. Noel missed out on competition through injury for much of the season. Thankfully that is now behind him as his performances over the weekend confirm – 1st in 110 hurdles, 1st in Discus (Both PBs), 1st in 1500m, 2nd in 100m, 2nd in 400m, 3rd in Javelin,4th in high jump, 4th in pole vault and 5th in Shot. Congratulations on those excellent achievements.
