Our two men, students in Tulsa University USA, marked further progress in their running careers at the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayettville, Arkansas at the weekend. Scheduled to compete on Friday they had to wait until Saturday as a pending storm led to a transfer of Fridays action to the following day. It didn’t seem to interfere with the preparations as both athletes recoreded PBs in their respective races. Shay McEvoy ran in the Open 5000m and finished second in 14.21.15. Peter Lynch competed in the more competitive 5000m and finishing in ninth place clocked 14.00.28. One remarkable statistic in Peter’s journey since going to Tulsa is that he has recorded a PB on every outing.
