Congratulations to our three athletes who qualified for this year’s world junior championships which were held in Hayward Field, Eugene, Oregon, USA. Pia Langton qualified for the 800m and 1500m but competed in the 800m. There she placed 4th in heatno 4 in 2.07.06 to qualify for the semis. She finished 7th in the semi in 2.07.41 which was insufficient to proceed to the final. Kate Maher and Molly Daly were both selected for the 4x400m relay panel. Unfortunately Molly had to withdraw because of injury and Kate travelled as a sub on the team which exited the competition in the semifinal. A great honour for the athletes, coaches and club to have three qualifying and great experience for Pia and Kate to be involved in such an event.
