There were some fine performances from our athletes at the weekend with a number of PBs achieved. In the national indoors in Abbotstown Both Billy Coogan, who won his semifinal, and also Myles Hewlett had PB’s in their 3000m – Billy 8.34.12 and Myles 8.38.98. Molly Daly and Orla McPhillips tasted their first senior Indoor Championships. Molly, having won her heat of the 200 in 24.63, placed a good 4th in the final in 24.94 while Orla went in the 800m. Cathal O’Reilly, 2nd in Saturday’s 1500m semi-final, placed 10th in the final in 3.54.15.
Down on the road in Enniscorthy there were more PBs in the 10K.18th Shay Roddy 35.30, 26th Paul Bolger 36.59, 57th Rory Conlon 40.40 and Clare Murphy, on her first outing with KCH had a PB of 43.41. First Harrier to finish was Eamon O’Connor, 10th in 34.46. Well done all.
