This weekend produced news from a variety of quarters. First we had Relay news- Three of our juveniles selected for training on national relay panels viz. Alex Cullen 4×400 U20, Molly Daly 4×100 U20 and Cliodhna Manning 4×400 Senior.
Then it was the selection for the Celtic International in Leeds- Ruairi McEvoy and Callum Barron selected of the Irish U20 team. They ran and finished 24th and 26th respectively. Cathal O’Neill (U23) selected on the senior team where he finished 40th.
Then it was the NIA where Cliodhna Manning and Kate Maher both guested at the National Indoors. Cliodhna clocked 7.64 in the 60m and 24.54 in the 200m. Kates times were 7.95 and 25.51 respectively.
Then it was over to Westport, Co Mayo for the B All-Ireland CC where two of our U15 girls were in top form. Katie Byrne was 7th and Amelia O’Brien placed 10th.
News this morning is that the Knox and Daly families will have a celebration on Saturday 15th Feb as Conor Knox and Ellen Daly have been selected for Leinster Star Awards.
