It was gold all round for our Ladies over 30 and Men over 35 at a cool, windy and slightly damp Kilmacow today. Golden all round because the individual gold and team gold in both events were won by KCH. The ladies made it 1, 2 and 3 individuals with Caitriona Muldowney, Donna Dunne and Caoimhe Foley gathering the individual gold, silver and bronze. Donna having led for most of the race was passed by Caitriona who stormed through the final lap. The ladies had good reserves with Kate Millea placing 7th and Sheila O’Callaghan 8th. The men were equally impressive and with six runners in the field they battled for 1st and 2nd team medals. The first team place was well secured with Paul Moran first home, Conor Bolger second and Graham Bourne in 5th place. John O’Donnell 6th, Tony Lauhoff 8th and Paul Larkins 12th gave battle over the seven lap course but had to settle for third team medals- just missing out on second by one point.
Juveniles were small in number but competed well. Boys under 8 – Ewan Bolger, Darragh Browne, Tadgh O’Callaghan, Ryan Limpkin and Will Lehane placed 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th respectively. Ella Millea putin a good finsih to get 4th in girls u10 while Darragh O’Flaherty and Shay Molloy were 6th and 8th respectively in the boys race. Luke Browne gave a quality performance to place 5th in the under 12 race. Well done all.
