Jul 11/12/13 Nationals(D3, B’s, Relays), Morton

What a busy time! Cork City Sports is barely over and it’s off to Santry on Friday night for the Morton Games. For Pia Langton it’s her third race inside a week so clocking 2.09.40 for the 800 is no mean achievement. Cliodhna Manning continued her good season performances with a sub 53 seconds (52.94) for the 400.

Then it’s off to Tullamore for Day 3 of the national juveniles.  Once again we had good results across all the ages especially, but not exclusively, in the sprints.

Results – U14 Daniel Greene 5-1500 (4.28.82).

U15 Ella Sorohan 2-200 (25.57).

U16 Danny Direen 7-250 hurdles (38.90); Ellen Daly 2-200 (24.99); Patrick Wall 3-250 hurdles (33.87); Aisling Phelan 3-200 (25.31); Sinead Cormack 8-1500 (5.00.84).

U17 Conor Malone 8-high jump (1.65); Kate Maher 2-200 (25.03).

U19 Tom Murphy 12- 1500 (4.23.61); Cormac Holden 8-400 hurdles (1.05.72); Grace Delahunty 8-200 (26.58).

AND THEN it was back to Tullamore on Sunday for the B All-Irelands and the Relays. Results were brilliant in both with joy and celebrations for athletes, parents and the dedicated coaches. 

RESULTS – B Nationals

U12 – Danny Quinn 1 -high jump and 11-600 (1.59.04).

U13 – Eoin Hoyne 3- 600 (1.46.83); Lexi Keating 80 (12.50) and 600 (2.09.66); Cariba Masuku 80 (12.01).

U14 – Marcus Lyons 80 (11.58).

U15 – Amelia O’Brien 2 -800 (2.25.67); Marija Kaljevic 5-800 (2.27.55); Katie Byrne 7-800 (2.31.43); Aimee Byrne 100 (14.52); Daniel Devine 800 (2.47.99).

U16 – Ellen Cormack 2-800 (2.26.12).

THE RELAYS

KCH had seven teams taking part today and finished with five teams winning medals including gold for Girls U15 and Girls U17. 

Results – Girls U13 – 3rd in their heat (56.55) -Ellen Ryan, Bella quaglia, Julia Daly, Ella O’Flaherty, Cariba Masuku.

Boys U13 – 5th in final (55.37) – Jacob Briers, Eoin Hoyne, Simon Brennan, Cathal Comerford, Danny Trayer.

Girls U15 – 1st in final (51.69) – Jasmine Timmons McEneaney, Mollie Rose Keegan, Ella Sorohan, Aimee Byrne, Kelly Charters, EllaTrayer.

Boys U16 – 3rd in final (47.17) – Fiach Crowley, Danny Direen, Eoghan O’Farrell, Patrick Wall.

Girls U16 – 2nd in final (49.67) –  Ellen Daly, Ella Sorohan, Mollierose Keegan, Jasmine Timmons McEneaney, Aisling Phelan, Emily Long.

Girls U17 – 1st in final (49.27) Kate Maher, Martha Bergin, Aisling Phelan, Ellen Daly and Emily Long. 

Mixed U19 – 4×400 – 2nd in final (3.54.14) – Ella Wall, Cillian Daly, Grace Delahunty, Cormac Holden.
