Another hot day in Tullamore for Day 3 of the National Juvenile Champoionships. KCH had eight athletes involved today and all reached the finals of their respective events. Annie McEvoy was also in hot form. Having won the 3000 in the afternoon heat of yesterday she had the 1500 to contend with in today’s heat. That she did and did it well to win the silver. A further three of our athletes were also involved n the 1500s – Tom Lodge U16, Cathal Kearney U18 and Kevin Burns U19. They finished 6th, 16th and 7th respectively. Orla Kenny U15 and Tara McGuire U16 both competed in the 250m hurdles.  Running well in the heats both qualified for the finals where Orla placed 7th and Tara placed 8th. Another finalist was Conor Byrne (U15) who ran in the 200m. Placing 4th in his heat he finished 7th in the final. Rory McGabhann cleared 1.90 in the U19 high jump to win the bronze – quite an achievement given his limited training owing to injury. Well done to all our athletes and coaches.
