IOWA
Peter Lynch was in action in the US. He ran in the seven mile BIX7 in Davenport, USA, where he placed 9th in 32.36. Despite a tricky hilly course and the short distance he was with the leading group for most of the race. the race was won by Moroccan , Mohammed El Youssfi in 32.07.
KILKEE
Three Harriers were in Kilkee on Saturday for the Kilkee half marathon. John Kearns finished in 1.54.19 while Brendan Nugent came home in 2.07.41. Liz Nolan did the 10K in 59.04.
PINK ROCK
The annual Co Kilkenny 10K road race was held at the Pink Rock on Sunday. A great turnout by KCH saw some 29 members taking part with 17 clocking PBs. In addition the team medals, for both men’s and ladies teams, were won by KCH. Ladies team – Emma Ayres (1st individual), Lisa Collins, Kate Sugrue, Jane Campbell. Men’s team – 2nd Eamon O’Connor, 6th Shea Roddy, 10 Michael Murphy, 11 David FitzGerald.
