What a couple of days for the club!! Thirty-two wins – 13 gold, 13 silver and 6 bronze – and four CBPs. This was Leinster u12- u19 juvenile track and field in Tullamore. 

 

UNDER 12s – Ellen Ryan won gold in the 60m hurdles and placed 9th in long jump. Teagin Mtinsi 5th in turbo and Isabella Quaglia was 9th in Turbo. 

UNDER 13s  – two medals. Gold for Conor Knox in the long jump and silver for Daniel Greene in the 60m hurdles. Aoibhinn Kelly was 4th in the long jump and Marcus Lyons was 7th in long jump.

UNDER 14s – Some 17 athletes from this age group competed. Jack O’Neill had a great day on Sunday – he ran the 200m heat and won gold in the hammer and silver in discus. Ella Sorohan won 3 silver – 80m ,200m and 300m. Fiach Crowley was also busy running the 80m sprint, placing 4th in long jump and 2nd in 75m hurdles. Newcomer Kelly Charters was likewise busy with 5th in high jump, 6th in 75m hurdles and 7th in long jump. Mollie Rose Keegan 4/200, 5/80, 12/long jump; Andrea Kunalan 80m heat; Emma Kelly 8/ 800m; Katie Byrne 7/800, 9/1500; Noah Flynn  5/long jump, 6/80m. 6/300; Daire O’Flaherty 10/1500; Aidan Malone 80m heat; Landon Ryan silver in hammer and 6/ discus; Amelia O’Brien 800m semi-final; Killian Croke 4/800, 5/200; Alicja Slawinska 200m and 5/long jump; Lucy Maher long jump and 75m hurdles; Ruadhan McGuinness high jump and 200m.

   UNDER 15s – Eight medals including a CBP !!!!!The CBP was that of Sinead Cormack in the 1500. Her time was 4.44.33. She also won silver in the 800m. Ellen Daly won two gold -100m and 200m; Aisling Phelan had two silver -100m and 200m; Patrick Wall won silver in 250m hurdles and placed 4th in 200m; Robert Coogan also won gold in the 1500m. Other results were Kara Canavan 8/800m; Danny Direen 4/250 hurdles, 5/200m and heat of 100m; Ellen Cormack 5/600m, 6/1500m; Eoghan O’Farrell 5/300m, 6/200m; Patricia O’Connell 6/javelin, 9/shot. Patrick Wall, Danny Direen and Eoghan O’Farrell won bronze with the inter county relay team.

UNDER 16s – Won five medals plus CBP. Matias Quaglia had gold in 100m and 200m. His 200m time of 22.63 earned him CBP. Kate Maher won gold in 200m and silver in 100m; the fifth medal, a bronze, went to Safi Uzari Boston in javelin . She also competed in Shot. Kyrell Mtinsi 7/400, 8/long jump; Conor Malone 4/high jump; Charlie Lyons 100m heats and 9/long jump.

UNDER 17s – Aoibhe Quinn was the star performer here with silver in 100m and bronze in 200m; Eimear Cormack 5/800m; Clodagh O’Callaghan 4/800m; Cathal Rossiter 200m heats and 7/300m hurdles; Conor Ryan 4/3000m; Evelyn McEvoy 7/3000m; Cormac Holden 7/800m and 300m hurdles heat.

UNDER 18s – Two CBPs here. Pia Langton fresh from 2.08.92 for the 800m in Belfast on Saturday set a CBP of 2.09.37 Sunday to take the gold and replacing Geraldine Nolan on the Best Performance list. Geraldine clocked 2.10.3 in 1987. The second CBP came via a NEW EVENT THE 4X400 MIXED RELAY. The winning team was Ella Wall, Grace Delahunty, Killian Redmond and Cillian Daly.The time set was 4.01.59. EllaWall won gold in the high jump and placed 4th in 400m. Tom Murphy on his debut event with the club won bronze in the 1500m. Other results were Grace Delahunty  100m heats and 4/200m; Darragh Dunne 100m heats; Cillian Daly 6/200m; Killian Redmond 200m(25.58) and 400m (56.29).

UNDER 19s – Most of our athletes in this group have leaving cert exams so few available for Leinster. Paddy Kelly won bronze in the 3000m steeplechase; William Nugent 6/400m, 7/200m.
