There was a very enjoyable evening in Thomastown today as the weather was perfect, the atmosphere relaxed and boys and girls enjoying the competition. KCH had a great turnout of juveniles and quite a number taking part in their first ever track and field event. Others having whetted the appetite at the “A” event were very enthusiastic. One of note was Under 9 boy, Daniel McIntyre, with gold in the long jump, silver in 80m and bronze in 300m and turbo jav. Kara Canavan had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in shot, long jump and sprint respectively. Under 14 boys Joshua Malone, Conor Malone and Darragh Donoghue had a clean sweep with 1, 2 and 3 in the sprint. There were many other individual achievements and in the relays it was gold for girls under 10 and boys under 14 and silver for boys under 10 and boys under 12.
