A number of our senior athletes were involved in a variety of events at different locations. Nearest home were those who competed in the Leinsters in Carlow on 28th May. Paul Phelan M50 won silver in 200 (27.67) and 800 (2.25.76). Eamon O’Connor was 6th in Senior 1500 (4.13.54). Jack Manning was 4th in Senior 100 (11.31). Ross Daly clocked 11.67 in his 100 and was 4th in senior 200 (23.40). Padraig Ruane completed the 5000m in 16.51.43 to place 7th.   

Eoin Everard was in Oordegem, Belgium competing in the International Flanders Athletic Meeting. His event was the 5000 which he finished in a very competitive time of 14 minutes.

Also on the 28th Aoife Richardson was with the Irish team competing in the European 10K cup in France. Aoife finished the race in 34.22.31. Niamh Richardson was team manager.

Further afield in Fayettville, Arkansas, Peter Lynch competed in the West Regional 10K  on Wednesday 25th May. His finish time was 29.20.26. This saw him cross the finish line in 25th place out of 48 starters. While disappointed with his placing he nevertheless competed as pacer on Friday night  for his college athletes and led the field through the first 3000m.
