Day 4 of the County Track and Field Championships marked a significant achievement for the club. Fot  a number of years our F4L ladies dabbled in the championships but not in significant numbers. This year was different thanks to Kate Millea and Declan Walshe who motivated the F4L athletes and also Pat Purcell who trained the Cto5. With the enthusiasm generated by these groups some twenty plus Harriers took part. Included among the participants were Peter Lynch who got things going with a comfortable win in the 5000, Jack Manning 1st in senior 200m, Cliodhna 1st in senior Shot and Ciara Deely 1st in junior 200. But it was the veterans who won the day. They chipped away in a multitude of events and the points kept building up. Of particular note was John Phelan , (O-50) with gold in 100, 200 and long jump 2nd in shot and 3rd in weight for distance. The real joy came with the relays where the club was victorious in all four – ladies 4×100, 4×400 and men 4×100 and4x400. Full results available on Kilkenny County Athletics Board.
