STOOK

With the heavy rain brought by Claudia now gone it was ideal weather for this year’s Stook, hosted by Gowran AC. KCH had a number of athletes on the road. Emily O’Keeffe took on the 5K and ran well to place second lady. In the Stook 10 mile there were good results for the club in the county section of the race. The ladies packing well took first team medals (2nd Orla O’Gorman, 3rd Rhonda Griffith, 4th Laura Andrews and Martina McGrath). The men led home by Rory Conlon placed third. Other team members were Matthew Warren, Thomas Meehan, Sean O hArgain, and Andrew O’Carroll.

US CROSS COUNTRY

The regionals for the US Colleges cross country were held at the weekend. The Tulsa team had Shay McEvoy finishing 19th, leading his team home. But coming 4th Tulsa don’t qualify for the nationals. Billy Coogan’s Iona team placed second in their regional and thereby will be involved in the nationals. Best wishes to Billy and team.
