Today was All-Ireland day for some of our cross country runners in Abbottstown, Co Dublin. Shay McEvoy continued his excellent form to take first place in the boys 6000m under 18. With Kevin Burns 25, James Kearney 51, John Muldowney 65, Cathal Kearney 83 and Luke Whelan 100 the club team were fourth. The same team contested the junior event with Shay placing 7th and the team coming ninth.
Annie McEvoy was also in determined mode from the start of the girls under 18 race. Finishing 7th she led the county team to first place and collected a further gold as the third scorer on the winning Leinster team. Annie was 15th in the Junior race and led the county team which finished third. Issey Shine was 70th under 18 and herself and Ciara Murphy ran well in the junior race.
In the younger age races Roisin Burns ( 82) and Luke Browne (131) gained useful experience in the under 12 races. Joe Kearns (131) scored on the under 16 team which finished 11th.
Eoin Everard and Brian Maher represented the club in the senior men’s 10Km, finishing 21st and 33rd respectively.
