Club juveniles travelled in numbers and gained a wealth of experience at the national cross country relays in Abbottstown today.

First up were the under 11s. The girls teams placed 15th (Winter Rose Molloy, Isobel Hoyne, Jane Byrne, Edie Kemple) and 23rd (Caoimhe Malone, Sadie Murphy, Aoibhin Behan, Lucy Maher, Nora Carroll) in a huge field of 35 teams.

The under 11 boys also did well to finish 6th (Daniel Quinn, Charlie Norris, Conor Delaney, Daniel McIntyre) and 21st (James Healy, Harry Healy, Finn Van Volkengoed, Oisin Smith, Ethan Maher ) out of 24 teams.

In the mixed under 12 relays there were medals when one team (Kate Kelly, Ellen Ryan, Ella O’Flaherty, Eoin Hoyne, Brandon Maher, Charlie Donohoe) placed third. The other (Julia Daly, Casey Cleere, Mealla Crowley, Tadhg McGuinness, Jake Gunning, Eoghan Buckley) placed 16th. There were 33 teams in this race.

And keeping the good wine until last – The under 14 mixed team (Amelia O’Brien, Emma Kelly, Katie Byrne, Daniel Greene, Killian Croke, Peter Quinn) won silver when they finished second from 18 teams.

Well done all.
