KCH had three athletes taking part in this years Cork City Sports and all three did well. Myles Hewlett, competing in the Open 3000m, finished third equalling his PB time of 8.39.99. Cathal O'Reilly ran the John Buckley Sport 3K amid a host of top athletes. Finishing in 19th place he recorded a PB of 8.11.34. Molly Daly, an U17 juvenile, mixed it with the seniors and finished 4th in the 200m in 24.53, marginally outside her PB of 24.52. Well done.

KCH had ten athletes taking part in Day 1 of the national juveniles in Tullamore today. There were some very satisfactory results with four medals won and four athletes posting personal best performances. Top spot goes to Pia Langton with gold in the 800m clocking 2.10.82. Today's results:- U13  Conor Knox 3rd Shot 12.84PB, 7th in long jump 4.30; Daniel Greene 5th 600m (1.39.74), 6th 6om hurdles (10.22). The preliminary round of the national league was held in TUS, Athlone today. With a somewhat less than a full team KCH managed to compete in 14 events accumulating 136 points which places the club in position for the League final on 28th July. A great achievement with 4 juveniles, 3 juniors and 2 seniors. Some news this week on Juvenile selections for international events. Kate Maher and Matias Quaglia have been selected for the Schools International in Carmarthen, Wales on 20th July. Molly Daly and Pia Langton have been selected for the European U18s in Banska Bystrico, Poland which run from 18th to 21st July. Best wishes to all four.
