There was a busy morning on the track at Scanlon Park today as 5K pacing trials organised by Kilkenny City Harriers and Kilkenny Triathlon Club. In all eight 5K trials (with more than one time being paced in many of the races) were held. There were also a 3K and a 1500m provided to suit the needs of a group of athletes. Among those was KCH athlete, Eoin Everard, who had a bash at a sub eight minutes for the 3K distance. Thanks to the pacers, James Ledingham, Shay McEvoy and Peter Lynch, they got him over the line in 7.57. Mission accomplished. Thanks to the fitness and professionalism of the pacers all the time trials went according to plan. The event was greatly assisted by Catherine and Vincent Gutherie who provided the timing. Thanks also to John Maye, May Hutt, Martina Lynch and Niamh Richardson for all their help. All proceeds of the event go to Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.
