The long wait for the end to this year’s county track and field championships arrived tonight with the U11s getting the chance to show their paces. And that they did in style. Two silvers in the 60m sprint – Jasmine Timmons-McEneaney for the girls and Aidan Malone for the boys. Daire O’Flaherty was in fine form to take the gold in the 500m. He also won the bronze medal in Turbo Javelin. Amelia O’Brien was in the medals twice winning bronze in both 60m and 500m. Emma Kelly went even better with silver in both 500m and Turbo Javelin.
When the points from all events in the championship were totted up KCH were once again the winner of the Juvenile shield. In the adults championships KCH were second with first place going to Gowran.
