With all the Leinsters over the nationals for juveniles go full steam ahead over this and next weekend. Saturday 2nd was very much about the childrens games- “the Pairs” and relays for u9, u10 and u11. We had five sets of pairs qualified from the Leinsters – three under 10 and two under 11. The under 10 pair of Julia Daly and Ellen Ryan won bronze in the 500m and the under 11 pair of Aoibhinn Lacey and Vivienne Lepeskaite also won bronze in the 60m sprint. The other finalists were Mealla Crowley and Ella o’Flaherty in U10 Long Jump, Isabella Quaglia and Ella wall in u10 Turbo Javelin, Marcus Lyons and Darragh O’Callaghan in u11 60m. All had good competitions. no medals were won in the relays despite the best efforts of our boys and girls. The Relay results were as follows:- U9 Boys 7th in heat; u10 boys 5th in heat; u11 girls 6th in final; u12 girls 6th n final; u12 boys 5th in heat; u13 girls 3rd in heat.
There were some very good results in the individual events for u12s and u13s. Fiach Crowley was 5th inu12 Long jump(4.05); Jasmine Timmons McEneaney was 8th in 60m semi-final (9.32) u12; Ellen Daly won bronze in 80m u13 (10.89); Sinead Cormack and Thomas Hayes competed in u13 high jump and cleared 1.15 and 1.35 respectively.
