This year’s National League commenced with a Preliminary Round held today in Santry. In the Men’s Club section the KCH team was one of eighteen participating. Team manager, Jack Manning, introduced a number of young men to the event and was rewarded with good results as the team finished in eight place. The events covered, the athletes involved and points garnered are as follows:- 1500 walk – Nicholas Dunphy -15; 200m – Jack Manning – 14; 100m – Adam Slawinski – 10; 400m – Aaron Barron – ; 400hurdles- Alex Cullen – 11; 4x100m Relay – aaron Barron, Adam Slawinski, William Nugent, Jack Manning – 11; 1500m – Cathal O’Reilly – 15; 3000m steeplechase – Paddy Kelly – 9; 5000m – Ruairi McEvoy – 9; 4x400m relay – Aaron Barron, Willaim Nugent, Alex Cullen, Jack Manning – 12; Long Junp – Alex Cullen – 11; Shot – Brendan Hyland – 13; Discus – Jack Manning – 5; High jump – Alex Cullen – 13; Weight for Distance – Aaron Barron – 4; Javelin – Brendan Hyland -17.
