The cross country championships got under way today with the juvenile even ages and Novice championships in Castlecomer. For KCH this was an excellent opening day. For the juveniles there were 13 individual medals in the championship races – 7 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze. The teams had 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze. The adults were also impressive with the novice ladies having 1st, 2nd and 3rd individuals plus 1st and 2nd teams. The men retained the novice cup with Paul Bolger taking individual silver and the team winning gold.
